
As a committed group dedicated
to building a strong federation serving our members and
communities, we welcome and encourage new members to be
a part of our growing development and evolution It is understood that this
Federation is not exclusive, in that members may belong
to any or all existing Associations and Networks
as they so choose.
It is inclusive in the
Federation hopes to include those in our region who do
not belong to any larger body and can do so in a way that
is affordable and has direct benefit to meet
hunger needs.
The Federation is geographic
only in general terms and those outside the accepted area
(south of Leduc to the provincial boundaries) may apply
for membership and be accepted on a per case basis.
It is expected that all
members be prepared to share surplus resources and provide mutual support
as and when available and if necessary. The Federation
encourages and assists in the distribution and coordination
of local surpluses to meet other needs within the region.
Member organizations adopt
the Southern & Central Alberta Food Bank Federation
Articles of Association and Memorandum of Association.
Member organizations will
adopt and apply the Canadian
Food Bank Association Safe Food Handling Guidelines and Code
of Ethics to their organizations.
Member organizations will
not solicit the donation of food or services for profit.
The minimum annual membership
fee for the Southern & Central Alberta Food Bank Federation
is a flat fee of $20.00 per organization, but members are
encouraged to contribute a higher amount if possible. Memberships
are valid for 1 year from AGM to AGM. Membership shall
be renewed on a yearly basis to maintain membership.
Payment of membership fees
implies that the membership requirements have been met.
